Starting in July, one of my favorite local venues is hosting live music outside every Friday. Starting at 6pm, this seems like a fairly perfect way to kickoff a weekend this summer. Tickets are $10, you’re encouraged to bring a blanket, food baskets will be available for purchase, and of course drinks will be around. Checkout the schedule below, and find a date to swing over and catch a show.

July 7 – Big Sadie

July 14 – Lady Parts (Kelly Hogan and Nora O’Connor)

July 21 – Bill MacKay and Ryley Walker

July 28 – The Lowest Pair

Aug 4 – Kelly Hogan and Scott Ligon

Aug 11 – Peter Oren

Aug 18 – Jack Klatt

Aug 25 – Lawrence Peters Outfit

Two Great Shows Tonight!

Happy 4/20 everyone!

One of my favorite problems about Chicago is how many amazing shows there are every day of the week, but that sometimes means I have to make a hard decision on where to spend my night. Tonight’s one of those nights, as a slew of great local bands celebrate the holiday and new releases. Check ’em out and head on out, and if you make your way to the Hideout seeyathere.

the bingers

The Empty Bottle is hosting The Bingers (LP release), Peach Fuzz (EP release), and Glyders, and there’s no doubt in my mind it’s going to be a fantastic time. Click the pic for event details, and get familiar!

Over at The Hideout even more music is being released, as Dark Fog, Bionic Cavemen, and The Velcro Lewis Group hit the stage. This bill is too good to pass up, so I’ll be festively celebrating the good tunes here tonight. Come on out!
