The Damn Choir make some damn good music, and looking glass is happy to have them on the roster! After a sold-out show at the Hideout in February for their new album’s release, The Damn Choir hit the road to support their 13-song LP “Creatures of Habit.” Produced by Bryce Goggin (Antony and the Johnsons, Apples In Stereo, Swans, Dean & Britta), and mastered by Fred Kevorkian (Willie Nelson, The Walkmen, The White Stripes, Iggy Pop), it’s a beautiful piece of work. Click play to check it out.
Up next, they headline the Beat Kitchen on Friday, May 29, with all proceeds benefiting New Leash on Life. This LA and now Chicago-based organization is dedicated to reducing the number of animals euthanized by helping to find them new homes. In addition to donating all ticket proceeds, The Damn Choir has a shirt available featuring lead-singer Gordon Robertson’s dog, and $5 from each sale goes towards saving lives. AND, the opportunity to help doesn’t stop there, as the show will host a silent auction on items including a bike, dog walks, restaurant gift cards, and tickets for the Cubs, Double Door, Lollapalooza, Riot Fest, Pitchfork, the Blackhawks, and more! Click HERE to see the full list of the auction items and to save the date.
Be sure to keep an eye out, as they’re playing festivals across the city throughout the summer, and will be on the road again soon!
